Setup guide

Get GUIDE PLAYER running in a few minutes.

Before you start

GUIDE PLAYER does not provide content. To use it you need one of the following from a service you are entitled to use:

  • Server address, username and password (Xtream API compatible services), or
  • an M3U / M3U8 playlist URL or file.

Only your service provider can give you these details. GUIDE PLAYER LLC does not issue accounts or sell content.

Android TV & Google TV

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your TV, search for GUIDE PLAYER and select Install.
  2. Open the app and follow the first-run steps on screen.
  3. At the add-playlist step, choose the sign-in type and enter your details with the remote — or send them from your phone as described below.
  4. Once the playlist loads, open Live, Movies, Series or Guide from the home screen.

Send from the website

Instead of typing with the remote, you can send your details from the Upload list page on this site. Your phone or computer does not need to be on the same network as the TV.

  1. In GUIDE PLAYER on the TV choose Add source → From website. An 8-character code and a QR code appear.
  2. Scan the QR code with your phone, or open the Upload list page and enter the code.
  3. Type your list details and press Send to TV.
  4. The details fill the form on the TV; check them and press Start import.

The code is valid for 15 minutes and works once. If it expires, press New code on the TV.

Send from your phone

Instead of typing long addresses with the remote, use your phone. The transfer happens directly over your home network; your details never pass through our servers.

  1. Make sure the phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. On the TV's sign-in screen choose From phone and press Start server. A QR code, address and PIN appear.
  3. In GUIDE PLAYER on your phone, go to Settings → Send to TV and scan the QR code or type the address.
  4. Enter the PIN shown on the TV. The playlist is added to the TV.

Android phone & tablet

  1. Install GUIDE PLAYER from the Google Play Store.
  2. Open the app and tap the add-playlist button.
  3. Enter the playlist name, server address, username and password, then tap Sign in.
  4. When the playlist loads, switch sections from the bottom bar. Turn the phone sideways for landscape.

Troubleshooting

SymptomWhat to do
"Sign-in failed"Enter the full server address including http:// or https:// and the port (e.g. :8080). Check the details with your service provider.
Playlist looks emptyUse Refresh content in settings. If it persists, ask your provider whether your account has expired.
Stream won't start or freezesCheck your internet speed. Streams come from your provider; contact them about stream issues. On TV, try the other playback engine under Settings → Playback.
Guide is emptyGuide data comes from your provider. If your playlist has none, GUIDE PLAYER cannot show a guide.
Send to TV doesn't workCheck both devices are on the same Wi-Fi (not a guest network) and the PIN is correct.
